    observations. squeezing or collaborating?

Competition. Humans are hard-wired to compete. It is in our DNA as we have evolved into more sophisticated competitive spaces – for all of those streams that give us the ability to survive, at the most basic innate levels, we have various mechanisms inside us that drive us to compete.

Populations are growing. Food, water, and shelter sources are threatened. Weather is becoming more erratic and threatening to human populations. What we are witnessing is change. Fractional evolution going backwards to more tribal less global.

Why is this? Economic. Oppression. Suppressed feelings from ages back where our ancestors held rage and the festering over generations occurred to this point. License to rage by leaders who rage.

Where are we now? Facing serious historic changes – and it is happening everywhere. Some places more dramatic than others. Where are we headed? This remains to be seen.

For every dismal forecast, there is the forecast of the possibility of hope. When we are at our lowest points, we have fewer expectations for the broader scope. Small steps towards hope vs. large leaps towards some nirvana. Perhaps more down to earth. More realistic.

People without food or resources see any food or resources differently than those who say, “What shall I cook for dinner tonight?” Children without toys, see imaginative play in any object whereas children with many toys get bored easily at times because they are overwhelmed with choices and their minds are numbed to be able to make them.

Nothing like something life threatening to crystallize your opinions about the value of life – and what comes after. On a spiritual journey some of us have gone down variant paths to find that the journey we thought we were on wasn’t what we thought it was. Lose your religion? It happens. Looking for birds of a feather? It is deep within our human core to seek out other humans to enable ourselves to feel less lonely. Yet loneliness can occur even if you are with someone if there is distance or estrangement.

Now more than ever, we need to have the capabilities to be prepared for what happens next. We have deluded ourselves into thinking that “everything will be all right” when suddenly, it looks as if our worst nightmares are coming true. But hope and pleas for sanity to prevail are two things that we who see the situation for what it is to be, carry around within our selves and act upon.

It is a dark time. Zero Dark Thirty. Not quite the 11th hour, but that will come soon. Despite sunny days, it is dark right now. What we hope for is that there will be light after the darkness.

Being on this planet…for a while…Does your head in. Seriously.

Each year. Every month. Down to the day. Sometimes to the hour or the minute. Our perceptions of change, and sudden realizations, push on our stabilizers. Like a sudden wind that blows you nearly off your feet, you have to be prepared for that. In my observation, people react in different ways…

One. Some people freak out. They just panic. Someone else has to settle them down.

Two. Some people kind of freak out at first, then settle down and sort stuff out. They analyze and examine, and re-examine, until they think they understand as well as they can, then maybe they go outside and ask someone else to help them analyze the situation and sort it out.

Three. Some people say “whatever”, and let the wind blow, holding on, until it settles down, then they move along. They don’t take the time to sort anything out. They just consider it to be “something that either is going to happen regardless, or something that could happen, but it doesn’t matter – it’s out of the reach of control…”

Four. They just simply pray. They don’t do anything but pray. They pray to their God, or their whatever… It depends on where they are in the world.

Five. They say, “Yeah. I’m a shit magnet. Stuff always happens to me. I’m doomed.”

OK, so I think I have the categories pegged. And probably, at different times, some of us react one to many of those ways.

We are all in the family of man, like it or not – you must admit it. We are also survival oriented. It’s in our DNA. We generally cannot help this because we are hard-wired to react mostly that way first, until our culture or something has us altering our basic belief systems and points of reference – that’s were we tend to morph and whether it changes our DNA, or not, it definitely changes our behaviors and our reactions to sudden change in our daily lives. I am convinced of this, 100%.

These are my observations. Right or wrong, “these opinions are not those of the management, but strictly those of the individual”.

    There you go.

  • earth to God. we have a big problem here. save our children. save us. save our planet.

earth to God. we have a big problem here. save our children. save us. save our planet.

I think of the children separated from their parents – how horrifying for all of them – and do these people who invoke these rules and actions read history or is it that they think that this is all okay – the cruelty of it all.  Why?

It is hard to not speak out about what is going on and about current events of the recent past.

As I sit here, trying to work, my mind also wanders to Santa Fe, Texas.  Weeks later.  Now into the summer months…  Those parents of lost children and the students affected – how do those people cope?  This event was a life changer.  Never again the same…  Everyone, affected or not directly – most feel something.  If they don’t, there is something terribly wrong.  Obviously there is – something terribly wrong.

Then, I think of the recent events in New Jersey. I shudder and fear the next headline.  I fear it could be here – or anywhere…  It is no longer terrorists from abroad – it’s now becoming the symptom of a very sick nation – boys with guns – angry boys – delusional boys – grown up babies parents who have lost control of their kids’ upbringing somehow – enabling them to become estranged and mentally ill.

This is the stuff of science fiction, but it is real.  It is a nightmare, but we are all awake.

I know that “who is in charge” doesn’t care about our children, let alone most of our adult inhabitants.  ?

I wonder.  Is it that there is a wiring issue in their brains?  How can they possibly think that this is right?  Not today.  Not now.  Not ever.

It seems that there is no one to help.  The “leadership” are themselves delusional, and misdirected.  They are acting without a moral compass.  The “leadership” is killing off any goodwill that was held in the past.  It is like that word is not in their vocabulary.  The words “hell bent” come to mind – or perhaps, “hell bound”.

I pray every day for this situation to correct itself – or for some intervention from the great beyond – from the Hand of God…  If and when that happens, as usual, it is not what we expect – in form or fashion. 9-11 united us, but it also split us apart in many ways.  Corruption is a terrible thing.  Seven sins.

We as individuals can speak out and we can vote, if we are allowed – but even that is questionable in some states these days – But when those in charge don’t want to listen, we are powerless to exercise our rights – our rights are disappearing into some sort of void.

My forefathers are rolling over in their graves (or urns).  This is not America anymore – not the one of which they dreamed….
