the latest rant

This is a collection of past blogging efforts from early days of ellenspictures…

Here we are in the years (again).  I am just crazy-irritated at how much time I waste on stupid stuff that I NEVER intend to do – it just happens.

I start doing something on the computer like working on the website, and then I get an error message that I cannot troubleshoot.  I then submit a ticket and then wait three days – nothing.  There are even tickets in my list that do not even belong to me.  I call the support “hotline” (hah!) – I’m on hold a total of an hour, before I get a person who is nice enough, but nearly clueless, and as she tries to go off on a trail, each time, I herd her back to the point – she is seeing things in my ticket list – the ones that don’t even pertain to me – that I submitted tickets to remove from my list – that they haven’t – and it goes on.

Finally, this level 1 person decides it is too much over her head, so she puts me on hold AGAIN and I wait for the level 2 person.  The level 2 person gets on the phone – I have to tell my frigging story all over again – and he then does the “hmmmm” (scratching his chin or something else) – and says, can I put you on HOLD for a second?

What can I say – so, I said “OK” – then the call drops.  I call back, try the “0#” shortcut that only disconnects me (won’t do THAT again), and then go back to square 1 – waiting on hold for another nearly 1 hour before a person picks up – and for once, he is not an ass-clown, but knows the answer right away.  I wanted to hire him on the spot!  He fixed my issue.  Total time on the phone:  90 minutes.  Total time on hold 1 hour.  Let’s just say that this is inefficient and I pay money for this.  Ugh.

But these people are all so polite most of the time… So you can’t yell at them, right? Well, sometimes, I am good and indignant – and they look up “how to deal with indignant customers” in their book of scripted interactions… Well. That’s what it sounds like, anyway.

Some days… I feel like I am playing with one of those gadgets all day long…

It’s been a week.  Monday, my back gets worked out by a new person (to me) – nice enough, but painful.  Wednesday, a long “chiro” appointment.  Phone goes off while I am still face down with needles in my various areas – back, spine, calves, anywhere that connects with anything that causes the kinks to tighten and knots to form that make the “ouch”.

It’s my doctor’s office – left me a message – need to speak with you about your lab results.  I call them back.  They have closed three minutes ago.  I worry all night about the potential, given my history and all that…

I have an early morning meeting the next day, and its later in the afternoon when I call the doctor’s office again, and get their voicemail – to which I replied – “you called me yesterday, tag, you’re it!” knowing that we could go back and forth like this for days… But it was not too long that they did call back and the news was not as bad, but not as good as “normal” – you have the genetic virus marker – re-do in one year — keep me under “surveillance” like in case something weird shows up it’s sooner rather than later than that they figure it out.

In the meantime, the clock is ticking… I walk around with dread that they could find something that could put us in a state of financial ruin; render me “workless” and I die, after being carved on and chemically altered, writhing in pain, for which they no longer can give me the stuff that works – the outcome, one way or the other, anyway, after all that.  It isn’t an uncommon story these days.

Facebook is full of stories.  And prayer helps people cope, and with any positives, it is due to answered prayers – can’t be anything else, right?  People who don’t pray don’t get the cures, according to some folks out there. I’m not sure I believe that to be the literal truth, but you often hear people go to this extreme by saying this in so many words.  I just have to stop reading this stuff after awhile.  It really makes me anxious.

My impression of God isn’t the same as some peoples’ interpretation.  That’s another story for another time.  But today, I think that this world is a lot more complicated than when the civilizations on this earth began to proliferate across its surface… A LOT more complicated is an understatement.

All too often, the hospital corporations, big pharma, and the insurance companies get the money and then you die.  We’re talking up to seven figures or more in a life-time.  It’s the biggest scam around.  You get a better warranty when you buy a refrigerator.

If not you, your family gets stuck with the bills and for this you have paid close to $1040/month or more, and $6500/ a year to get to that point… plus your 20% or whatever it is which you do the math, and if the ticket is pretty high you end up with a big number on your price-tag – and this is the “good” insurance – the one where you get to choose your doctors who you know, and you don’t get the doctors who take everyone else whose name you have never seen before, and whose office is fifteen to twenty miles away in bad traffic.

Whoever thought that this “consensus deal” was going to benefit anyone but the corporations and the people who could never get decent healthcare, other than in emergency rooms, is silly.

“The rest of us” end up paying stupid amounts of money for the privilege to have access to doctors and supposed reduced rates for medical care.  It’s really a tax, but we don’t get the same advantages as people in other countries who actually call it a tax and provide healthcare (basic) to their citizens, and “insurance” is available for the upgrades at not nearly the cost that we pay in the USA.

But hey, that’s not a free-market economy, is it?  We have the right to profit off of sickness and death, here in “free-market heaven”.  It’s a big business.  There are all sorts of caveats to being in this “free-market” world where the price of admission is not what comes as advertised.

How did I get off on this subject, anyway?

Oh well, it’s not a bad thing to rant – it makes you feel better after you do it.  It doesn’t solve anything, but it doesn’t NOT solve anything either.

It surely is interesting.  I seem to have days where I begin to complete a task, and then it gets involved.  I really mean INVOLVED

Usually what happens is that something goes wrong and I have to call a “support person”.  Some of these people are very forthright and seem to want to do a good job, and some of them are useless.  Really, I may as well have not made the call…

But, after sitting on “hold” for 45 minutes (imagine my mind… it wanders after about five minutes of this nonsense) – and of course, just imagine that this is an investment in my time, sitting there on holdand, if I have invested 45 minutes, knowing that if I hang up, I will lose my place in the queue, then I might as well wait for the “support person” to come on the line.

So, I listen to the muzak that is playing in the background.  It is supposed to calm you down.  Actually, it is irritating.  Because I have heard this music on other “help lines” it is even MORE irritating to hear it again… Also, they play intermittent messages for a break in the music.  Many of them are trying to sell you something else that the company makes or has as an extra service.  I wonder how many people actually go for this.  Also, there are those that say, “please stay on the line after your call to complete a survey”.  Yeah right.  I really want to stay on the line longer.  Sorry buddy, not today.  Likely, not ever.

Finally, just before the person actually comes on the line, the message I usually hear is “this call is being recorded for training purposes” – could you ever imagine that so many people were being trained all over the place on these calls?  I wonder – how many calls are going on simultaneously — people just like me, enabling people to be trained by our calls!  How nice.

It kind of gives you the idea that you are giving some sort of service to someone.  Yet, there is this little voice that tells me, “this is not really the truth — they are just covering their asses in case you decide to get irate or want to sue them — it’s admissible evidence, this phone call, so you had better keep your cool, even though by now you are really starting to become frustrated even more than you were when you called with that original problem — hmmmm what was that original problem?”  It’s a trap.  It’s designed to make you hang up.  Oh yes, the recording that you listen to when you are on hold – our agents are all busy helping other customers – please remain on the line – however, the call volume today is particularly heavy – you may want to go to our website to see if you can find the solution to your problem there.  Yeah right.

If you do this, while you are waiting, usually it’s some sort of a “forum” where other people have the same problems and they offer up possible solutions for you to try.  It’s a form of crowd sourcing, this.  The lists are seemingly endless of suggestions on how to solve your issue.  Sometimes helpful, sometimes not.  I say that it’s a pretty risky deal if it has to do with fixing something.  How do you know?  What if something breaks worse than it is already broken?  What if you destroy it in the process?  What about electrical shock or explosions?  Criminy…

These forums are kind of entertaining at times, if you have nothing to do but read them while you are on hold for the “support person”.  There are people who write things there that make no sense.  Some of them get into petty arguments with one another, and call each other names.  They can get quite rude, actually.  Sometimes, the “site monitor” sends emails to let them know your post was removed as it was not “following the rules” – what rules?  The terms of use, stupid!  Oh my. There are usually little buttons so that you can “report abuse”, however.  But I wonder…”why is this still here?”  Asleep at the wheel, that monitor is… or non-existent.

And there you are, still stuck with the same problem you had when you called that support line.  Good thing you didn’t hang up!  Just maybe you’ll get lucky and someone can help you!  If they do, you want to do a happy dance!  Seriously!

I am usually most grateful and want to send them cookies or something – really – and I have to watch myself, as I have the urge to get chatty with them, but keep in mind… we are just callers, not friends.  Someone is waiting in the queue while we are “wasting their time” being pleasant.  Ah… Modern problems.

How long did that task take you?  What task?  Damn.  Two hours have gone by, and I have no less than twenty something things on my list to do before noon!  Aggggahhhh!  Next!

Me after being on a support call…

Honest to goodness.  What is it with these guys?  Second time this has happened to me where some nut job decides to use a business networking site like a dating site.  Idiot.

I guess people on this site cannot see that I am happily married.  It just irritates the fool out of me when this happens.  I consider these guys to be snarky snakes and worse.

OK, so maybe they have no social skills but need this front end to lurk around to look at potential dating prospects through a “clean” front-end.  Ugh.

Go join eHarmony or Match or even Christian Mingle for God’s sake!  Leave the business networking site alone, already.

Ugh.  I suppose this could be a modern problem.  It’s happened more than once.  Let’s hope it doesn’t happen again!   Creeps.

not so much a rant, but I was full of angst earlier.  it is usually the modern problems…

what i would do if there was someone hiding here…

Insurance.  Yes, as much as I try to be proactive, I can’t.  THEY are not ready yet.  Yes, it’s time to get ready to select another plan during “open enrollment” (code word for open insanity).  This is where the insurance companies find excuses to up their rates by “discontinuing your current plan” and decreasing the benefits available in future plans, like not having YOUR doctors in the new plans’ networks… which shifts you out to go find an insurance company that has your doctors in their network.

They have to be in SOMEBODY’s network, right?  And of course they will charge you more money.  At least a hundred bucks, for something that will not be exact or near what you had before.  The incredible vanishing healthcare courtesy of the BIG PHARMA, BIG MED, BIG INSURANCE, LOBBIES.

Yes folks, only in the USA is “health” care a big ass business.  You cannot expect to ever get well here, as it would shut them down, so they have to make you think that you are sick.  Love those TV and magazine ads.  Reading the fine print… essentially saying, “this stuff can kill you or at least maim you with creepy disease vulnerabilities and side-effects because we have jacked with your DNA!!!”  ahrghhhhhhh.

Enough already.  Don’t get me started, I feel like Lewis Black!

Those people who want to “heal you”  in cahoots with the food manufacturing  people that put unpronounceable chemicals in your food, to insure that you have the ability to develop illness at the “cell” level – oh, let’s destroy some organ systems while we are at it by putting so much sugar and sodium in this food that your kidneys and pancreas are screaming at you!!!  Even better, the ingredients from China where the soil is so polluted with heavy metal run off that it shows up in the crops…  It’s true.  I am NOT telling lies here.

NO.  I am not paranoid.  I am not alone in my thinking.  Something about the wheat here does make my stomach upset.  I don’t eat it.  It may look like wheat but it is like wheat made from Legos – made from some formula that gives the same look and feel in an abstract sort of way.  Printed from 3D printers.  Now I am getting silly.

But I am skeptical about medications that cost freaking thousands of dollars a year… I ask, “what’s the cost/benefit breakdown of this – and hey, what about the risks, while you are at it – can you give me those numbers, too???”

When will this madness stop?  Probably never.  MODERN PROBLEMS

The Circus is Coming to Town – It’s Campaign Time – A time where money is wasted, television ads interfere with programming, and a big % of articles focus on the political animals being let out into the ring…

I really hate this – every four years, the crap begins – each time, more shocking than the last… We thought that the previous cycles were bad – Sarah Palin, Rick Perry, Michelle Bachman, Marco Rubio, and now we have Donald Trump!  Idiots on parade!  Can you believe it?  We are certainly in for some entertaining (and scary) times.  The problem is that it is encouraged that these people spend so much of the GNP on campaigning it must be a seasonal type tick in our overall economic outlook…

Go here to see the big donors:  OpenSecrets where The Center for Responsive Politics tracks this stuff (and does it well, I might add…).  You will find explanations about all of the organizations and people who donate money to candidates and political figures…  It’s a very interesting site, if you have time to peruse it…

At any rate, it’s a circus… plain and simple.  Enjoy the entertainment, but do not lose sight of the seriousness of the situation.  YOUR daily world of how your country, your state, and your city operates is in THEIR hands – those who get elected, that is… Their policies and attitudes have much to do with your bottom line.  The “corporatization of America” is still running strong, as is the “corporatization” of the globe.  Believe me, most do not care about hunger, starvation, sustainability, education or clean climate – nope.

They do not care about YOU or your family – your kids, their kids, anyone… they DO CARE about money, and profiteering on many levels.  They say they care, but they do NOT care.  Look at their behavior and their supporters.  Actions speak louder than words.

It’s complicated.  It’s a major modern problem.

Rangitoto and The Preservation of Nature – Reality Check

We arrived by ferry. There were lots of people.  My expectation was shifting or rather, my realization was developing – this was not a case of being taken to an island where we and a few others would be able to explore the natural surroundings – it was more like a tour bus. On our departure from the ferry, we were told repeatedly that the next ferry would depart at 12:45.  This was in effect the curfew.  There would be others until the last one at 5:00 PM, but it seemed that most people were there to go up to the top, then come back and get back on the ferry.

As we got off, we realized that there was a little wagon kind of like a train, ready to take people up to the top – or maybe somewhere near the top so that they could walk up.  It was a mix of hikers and sightseers, the range of completely decked out for a wilderness hike with backpacks, to sundresses and heels.  Seriously.

We began to walk towards the trail to the top.  Lots of people were hurrying by us and behind us – up the trail to the summit… Some of the trail became quite steep.  Some people were obviously stressed and turned back.  Others pressed on.  Some took breaks and ate out of their backpacks.  We just kept going.  For me, it wasn’t too strenuous – I didn’t hurry, just took my time.  Good thing that I run on a regular basis.  I think it helped.

The one thing that we were told is that there are birds on this island, as well as the Tuatara, that now are flourishing.  Due to the large number of people, these animals and birds were not in sight – only a couple of times did we see any birds when we were in rare moments of quiet walking.  It was noisy.  Even some jackass comes down the trail with a boombox in his backpack playing loud rap music.  What a jerk.  What was he thinking?

This speaks to me of the fading lack of appreciation that we have a beautiful island here for protecting endangered species.  This has been turned into a tourist attraction without much monitoring.  When you buy your ticket, no one seems to make you sign an agreement that you will not screw it up.  Noise pollution is worse and possibly more harmful to birds and small animals than other types of pollution, at least on par, if not worse.  At least they shut it down at night.  Thank God for small favors.

At any rate, it was handled like just another “bus tour”, but different in that it was a ferry.  I suppose that if I had adopted another attitude, it might have made a difference… Maybe.  “I will try not to be annoyed by idiots who have boomboxes in their backpacks playing loud rap music in nature preserves…”  Right.  Um, not me, don’t think so.  Probably not ever.  Such nice children.  Hmmmm.  Someone loves them.  Just like the mothers of terrorists.  Always an excuse for them or denial is probably the most plausible.  Yeah right.  Ugh.

Okay, so we were not dealing with that today, thank goodness.  Just some kids grown to a large size trying to show off, probably some girl around where he wanted to impress her or get into her panties…  Or impress his friends that he was “extra cool”  (pointing fingers at self, “look at meeeee”) – guess any attention is better than NO attention.  Hmmmm again.

All boils down to “things that make you go hmmmmmm”

yeah…  here in January, 2015.

i think that it is helpful to get it out of your mind, what’s getting you.

you build up certain toxins within (i’m convinced) if you don’t dump them out of you, it makes you an unpleasant person to be around (ask my husband.  he knows what i’m talking about).

if you don’t dump it out it drives you crazy and you start to pull your hair out.  seriously.

my question today is “should one share one’s innermost thoughts (no matter how “incorrect” they are) on their blog, on the WWW?  what’s the risk?  your friend’s won’t like you anymore?  your family will think that you are an embarrassment?  your career will be ruined?  all of the above?  so, dearie, if we have that much hidden stuff that people don’t already know, don’t we have a problem anyway?

hiding within, being afraid to say what you think, doesn’t that really mean that you are living a lie — being someone who you are not?  just because people think one way is the “right way” or the “righteous way” does not make it right – my mother taught me that from a young age.  bless her.  another thing that she taught me – immensely valuable is “always turn the hot water off first.”  she did not remember telling me this, but it was a long time ago – and her memory wasn’t so good in her later years… but i taught it to my kids and hopefully, this sage advice will be passed along…

so, i digress.

a healthy rant is good for the soul.  but the question is “what is a healthy rant?”

hey.  i asked.  we’ll see.

next.

yesterday was freezing cold and it is still just a little respite today.  we should like this.

Stardate 91675.04

reflecting on yesteryear when life was different here in the good ol’ USA – no doubt this was somewhere in Kentucky, as this was not likely in the hotel “yard” (?) where my mother might have been – no telling.

This was around 1928-ish.  mom must have been approaching one year old, likely my grandparents beginning to be a little less nervous about things having lost the baby girl, Betty Bryant Wallingford, when she was just a small baby.  likely gut-wrenching as it gets, making any other emotions multiply within my grandfather’s soul.  we don’t see much written.

my grandmother notes Betty’s birthday in one calendar book that we found.   and the marker stone really underscores the gut wrenching thing.  what’s weird is that my mom’s birthday was two years, less two days in the future.  likely, my great grandma told my grandma to get to it and have another baby.

of course this influenced my mom’s early childhood.

Baby Betty

This was her “baby” Betty doll.  Of course this makes my cousin feel creepy, but I actually see the connections and realize the emotions.  The lady for whom Betty was named in the middle name was Rebecca Bryant Venable – who was married at least three times because her husbands kept dying on her – one of the flu that consumed both her husband and one of her children and almost the town – and later on who knows ?  as everyone in Kentucky likely smoked tobacco or they would be jailed, as it was probably a state law….

Well… today we know more than we did, but we do not know everything.  this is the whole quest of family history – piecing it back together again after people who knew up front either lose their memories or their lives.

But, here it is where we have the four generations cut-out, and the picture frozen in time – and there are not really any more direct ones but for my son, and my next gen cousins, and their kids who may not care until they can’t find out, for the same reasons.  like me.

Just yesterday, when we were all alive, four generations of women, all related

Airplanes dropping out of the sky and all that.

I tell you what.  It makes me nervous.  I don’t like flying in the first place.  It is not glamorous.  It is a hassle.  You feel like you are some kind of prisoner with all of the rats nest of security and stupid stuff that people say to assert their authority – and you really know that you are not likely any safer than you ever were…  You feel prodded, x-rated, scanned, and then they want to do this to you again, ad hoc, as if that will discover something that you since you went through the screener a few minutes ago might have cropped up.  Hello?

This required two gin and tonics. The full Monty search by the TSA lady…

Makes no sense to most logical people, yet, they still do this.  And it is not consistent or predictable.  It just makes me nervous.  I am still so angry at those idiots who caused this to happen.  Who do they think they are?  Mental, that’s what.  Just plain mental.

In the meantime, if we want to get anywhere quickly, and not on a boat, we have to get on one of those things.  Yeah, the ones that disappear suddenly potentially into the vapor…  That is a scary thought.  Maybe a boat is safer?  Maybe not.  They talk about those “rogue waves” that come up out of nowhere and just wash you away into oblivion.  I guess you have to take the risk if you are ever going to see much of your planet besides your own back yard.

Goodness.  Oh well.  We only have control of so much.  In the meantime, I just wonder about the unseen and the unknown…  Just wonder what happened… In the meantime, a gin and tonic seems like a damned good idea.

more later.

So now is later.  Really, in the other dimensions, things are different.  You know how I know that?  You listen to someone else talk, and you sometimes think, “are we sharing the same reality?” and you know you aren’t, deep in your heart.  The other person may actually look at you like you are from outer space.  I do know that this happens to everyone eventually.  The sad thing is that some people are so oblivious, they don’t even notice… but wait, is this sad, or good for them – you know – dumb and happy?  Hmmmmm.

So, it is getting to that time of year.  Not but a few days away.

The anniversary of his passing, Rob…  Transcendental blues.  It always gets me.  I think about it everyday, yet, I know, HE WAS NOT EVER MINE.  He was his own person, and I was just helping.  I had no more control than anyone else.  Yet, I feel guilty at times, like I did a lot of things wrongly, and did not do enough.  I miss him terribly, still… and I always will.  Jarulf.  ShortKloum.

Your alter-egos…  I miss them, too.  We all do.

Here’s to you sweetheart… you are a good dude… One by one, Buddy – the penguins steal my sanity…  I always thought that it was such a good shirt…  Love you forever, Buddy…

Banff, Summer 2001

YOU PEOPLE…  WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY WORLD?

It’s all for us to decide as individuals, how to relate to our world.  Yet. Some are very focused on some sort of show-down that creepily, seems to be heading inch-by-inch towards some sort of Armageddon scenario.

Push – shove, push – shove, with ever more the escalating and spreading contest – suppressing women – even abusing them to make a point – violence one faction to another,  in the shocking, escalating to senseless displays – and why?

Read Jimmy Carter’s newest book – A Call to Action – for a compelling commentary…  Curiously, he ties much of it to women.  Imagine, women actually have a lot of the power, they just have been trained and conditioned to not use it, because:

  1. The world cannot be populated without them, yet if all the males were gone, this would still be the case
  2. They do a lot of the work of the world as far as bringing up the next generations and of course, feeding, cleaning, etc.
  3. And then there is sex.  I won’t go into that here, but this nugget s one that definitely has some worthy needs of more elaboration.  This is one of the “elephants in the room”

“In his new book, President Carter argues that people’s actions are guided by international agreements as well as their own moral values, most often derived from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Bible, the Koran, and other texts that proclaim a commitment to justice and mercy, equality of treatment between men and women, and a duty to alleviate suffering. He also asserts it is not possible to address the rights of women, the human and civil rights struggle of our time, without looking at factors that create an acceptance of violence in our society — violence that inevitably affects women disproportionately.

Large-scale crimes against women enumerated in “A Call to Action” include: slavery, genital cutting, infanticide, child marriage, rape, honor killings, and economic and social deprivation. He calls on everyone to study these violations of basic moral values and take corrective action. President Carter writes, “My own experiences and the testimony of courageous women from all regions and all major religions have made it clear that there is a pervasive denial of equal rights to more than half of all human beings, and this discrimination results in tangible harm to all of us, male and female.” A commitment to universal human rights is desperately needed if humanity is to escape the cycle of war, poverty, and oppression.”

Here is a recent explanation of the current terror torrent using maps, which I think is a sensible way to look at this:

http://www.vox.com/2014/9/25/6843611/14-maps-that-explain-isis

AND, I do think that history is important, always – a good read is The Bible as History – last updated as hardcover in 2008 – available digitally – Dr. Werner Keller – gives a good perspective investigating historical events and correlating to events in the Bible, linking it’s texts with an additional purpose as an historical document…

However, as we as humans are “mammals”, and have the inherent instinct to survive, what is the end-goal, here? Is it survival of a tribal set of beliefs and system of living?  Power?  You got it.  All of the above.

And due to this…  World domination.   Really?  Yes really.

The drive for conformity. This is what my Mom always pushed me to NOT do.  However, being unique is a characteristic of ourselves, individually – NO TWO OF US ARE ALIKE, not even identical twins…  People may share the same DNA, but they are not exactly alike.  Some of us strive to stand out and be assertive with our beliefs, others follow, and others rebel against those who try to squelch the conformity… Interesting thinking about it this way…

And so I digress…

Why this strong drive?  The world is likely the most complex that it ever has been since the days of primordial soup, and getting more so each day.  It is getting more difficult for the “logical and rational” people to retain some sort of control.  Of course, not everyone agrees on what belief system defines “logical and rational”, and that is one of the problems… this lack of consensus.  Lately, there has not been a driver for all to come to an agreement.

Look at history.  However you want to look at it, things in ever growing chaos, eventually reach a tipping point constituting critical mass… Something has to sort it out and simplify it again.  Think about it:  it gets overly complicated and chaotic, reaching a crisis point – an event occurs, of disastrous proportions and blows it all to smithereens – it appears then, like everything is dead – and then some bits wake up, heal and come together to rise above the ashes… Just not in the same form as before.  The Phoenix effect

Consider the fly… the cockroach… the mosquito… the termite… the fire ants… now, there’s world domination for you… Think about it.

And so, as we get dragged back into cave-man days, and tribal warfare – are we in a big-bang fashion, going backwards now, into the origins?

The elasticity of it all, beginning to display itself through our awareness – with modern communication in high-velocity, high-volume, in your face at every minute of the day…

Of course, physicists think about it in scientific theory, but do we know what would it be like, really, to experience “big-bang”, as our day to day existence is affected by all of this, bit by bit?

The denouncers of big-bang, go forward with theories, religious and scientific in their roots, but there is not really any one answer that everyone collectively agrees upon.

It would make sense if we were all of the same mind, but that is human nature – to not be of the same mind, exactly as anyone else.  Yet the tendencies of these groups who strive for conformity disagree, paradoxically, as they are not in the same mind as other groups who want it to be their way or the highway…  Paradoxical and enigmatic, for certain – just like the missing piece of Big Bang – where did it all begin?  It began with nothing.  Right.  But admittedly, scientists say they really do not know.  This part is still under investigation.

So difficult it is for our human minds to imagine nothing.

Zen, the Dhali Lama, Baba Ram Dass, all of the above encouraging meditation such that we have a “tabula rasa” at least once a day – to help us imagine “nothing”… quite an oxymoron…

I remember my Mom telling me that I was unique…  A UNI-Q – and being an “individual” was of utmost importance.

I lived by this, and still do – and sometimes suffer the consequences of being rejected by the “clique” – yeah, I accept it that not everyone agrees with my logic by now!  Sigh.  It makes me tired sometimes to have to chase the consequences down and deal with them…

Especially since I do work in the world of people who try to make order out of chaos – standardize, processes, information, and all of that in order to make it more understandable and dependable… yet this is very “contra” to our human tendencies – we learn to order and make routines, and individually, we have our own, but really, this layer of order is imposed from some area of our brain that seeks to “balance” – where many of us are out of balance towards the other side of the scale…

Some of us are destined to try to clean up other people’s messes, and help make it so that these will not occur again… but like “whack a mole”, they constantly get out of balance, and again our work is cut out for us…

People with their “hidden” feelings – like damned little skittering night dwellers, that escape under things back into the darkness, when they recognize that you have discovered them!  Heh.  Flip that light on!  There they all are!  Not for long!  Quick!

I am intuitive.  Do you read minds?  No, but I pick up on things… and I have learned the hard way NOT to ignore these faint lights
