As the POTUS signs sweeping orders to press a point and an urge, let’s watch the tomato, the avocado, and the many “summer fruits” that we enjoy in winter, that we can not produce within our borders, year round, due to weather and seasons, and just see what happens. Let’s also plot the imports and transmissions of fossil fuels across borders, south and north, and see what happens to the costs related to the 20% extra lopped onto tariffs – the income (to the government – hey, tariffs are tax dollars imposed on outsiders!) – and what the economy actually does as these new rules are felt up and down the line.
One thing is for sure, it’s going to be a wild ride… One week into it, it already is…
