movie review. the “marigold” movie #2

Always when you see a movie, you transition into it to soak in everything that the writers, directors, actors, artists, etc., have been produced into this work specifically designed to get a message (or several), out to the audiences in whatever ways that they can, am I right?

How often do you feel that a movie is speaking to you in parts?  This one did, as did the last one.

The only thing is that they introduced Richard Gere as a new character.  Sometimes he’s good, other times, he’s mediocre.  OK, compared to the rest of the crew, he was kind of dull, and a bit formulaic, but he didn’t detract, exactly… it was just not his best part.  Maybe someone like Kevin Costner, or Alan Rickman, or even Geoffrey Rush would have been a better fit.  Kevin Costner for his “American boyish” aspect…  Rickman for his smoky, sexy, subtly devious nature… and Geoffrey Rush for the unlikeliness to be romantic being romantic… But anyway, it was what it was.  Gere is no longer aside Julia Roberts.  It wasn’t that type of role.

I liked the movie.  There was that tension needed to carry you slightly on edge through the scenes.  There was gorgeous color and excitement, surprise, romance, and there were a lot of “lessons”, salt and peppered throughout.  One senses that there will be a third, as there were those unresolved open situations…

It did make me want to travel to that spot, but with prior proper planning!  It surely would be an adventure!

six years and we are still cruising through life…

    Gus & Ell_31

Grateful.  Appreciative.  Lucky.  I am all of those things.

I am difficult to live with.  I am certain of it.  I am demanding and struggle with selfishness…

I love my husband to bits, I love my family, and my friends.  Of course there are people who drive me bonkers from time to time, and I express my feelings about this…

I hate injustices.  I hate for people to be taken for a ride.  I do not like being ignored.  Who does?  I am not very good at hiding my feelings.  Fishbowl.

But getting back to the real point of this post, I am ever so grateful and blessed to have my husband in my life.

He has a big job, being married to me.  Bless him.  Six beautiful years.  I pray that he will stick with me through thin and thick!

He has brought me joy, family, friends, and most importantly love and respect, and a beautiful marriage – and in the truest sense of through good times and bad times, he has stuck with me throughout.

thank you, sweetheart… you are the BEST.

    Love you dearly…always, and forever…

    the extended birthday…

being born in one country, then celebrating in a country with an international dateline location on the other side – well, its an experience.

even getting people’s heads around it is an adventure.

we have only to be able to exercise our brains.  it is all about imagination and problem solving, really.  we are much about that as humans.  constantly needing to imagine and solve.

    ahhh, to be five again!

at age 5, it was all about imagining being a fairy princess.  it gets complex, doesn’t it?
